Giant Days by John Alison (2016)

Rating: 4.5 Stars25785993.jpg

Susan, Esther and Daisy just started university and quickly became friends. This comic series tells the story of their trials and tribulations of being away from home, seeing old lovers, and believing in who you are.

I absolutely love this graphic novel. I caught wind of it through reading some of the Lumberjanes series, and thought I would check it out. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. You have three unique characters with their own voices, their own insecurities, their own dreams.

25814105.jpgI love Daisy’s quirky behaviour on her own personal quest for self discovery. Susan’s brave exterior as she tries not to let her heart be taken advantage of, and the light hearted fun that Esther brings.

Recommendations: Definitely 13+. No graphic nudity, but it is college life, and there are more mature themes discussed. I’d put it in a high school library for sure, but not a middle school one.
